Michael Linders

Michael Linders was born in Zurich Switzerland in 1983 and moved with his family to Johannesburg in 1987.

Linders’ work has an overt and defining relationship to prior experiences. It functions as a visual divination of the cultural signifiers and social landscapes of a particular period in his life and presents itself as a disjunctive construction of identity and visual language, a visual language which incorporates both graphic imagery and colour field experiences. In this way Linders takes stock of a period of visual influence that shaped him. He currently lives and works in Cape Town.
